We are now in Mill Falls Meredith New Hampshire after leaving beautiful Stowe in Vermont, the fall colour had started to fade inVermont, but we were lucky enough to see it at its best on this visit, it is truly jaw dropping. To add to this we also had snow which is one of our most favourite things.
New England seems to look after us on every visit, my husband drives around like he was born here, he never gets lost and is totally comfortable with the roads even in six lanes of Boston traffic, he has a permanent grin on his face, I feel sure that he has lived here in a past life.
As soon as we get off the plane at Heathrow he will have no interest in driving and will be happy for me to chauffer him around. I must say that driving in New England is an absolute pleasure, you take turns at one particular four way junction in Stowe, there are no traffic lights, can you imagine that in the UK?
I can only describe a lot of roads in New England (outside of Boston) as driving in the early part of Christmas day, and the speed limits are so low that once you get used to them they are so relaxing.

Mill Falls in Meredith has four hotels all connected by boardwalks and red paths, they are all beautiful
They are gearing up for a huge pumpkin festival at the weekend were over 1,000 pumpkins will be lit all at once on a massive tower.

Quite often in the morning and evening the sky turns a vibrant pink that reflects in Lake Winnipesaukee
A beautiful place to stay should you ever be fortunate enough to get the chance.
