Sam became a qualified plumber, but after a few years he decided that there was possibly more out there for him of an artistic nature. He decided to go to University and study Graphic Design, and I am pleased and very proud to say that Sam graduated yesterday with a first class Honours Degree, a prize award commendation with a membership for the International Society of Typographic Designers, and came 6th out of 1400 designers for an Islington designer pioneer award.
My thanks go to all the good teachers that helped him recover, mainly Park Gate Primary School, his headmaster Mr Brown, Julie Roche and Jeanie Low Ying.
Sam is always smiling (well most of the time) and yesterday amongst all the ceremony and congratulations Sam was still Sam. He arrived with a blister on his heel, his cloak was annoying him as it kept slipping back, and he smiled a lot and generally laughed at everything.
I hope you keep smiling Sam and carry on seeing the world as you see it. Here’s to the job of your dreams, and I look forward to buying lots of things you have designed. Please could you not make it food packaging though as I will probably fill all the kitchen cupboards with it and get told off by dad! And if you could hurry up and have that New York Loft apartment that would be great.
